Race Report

After an eternity a full racing program returned to Bayside. With a morning session of Run What You Brung to start the day off, then into the afternoon for practice and a cloudless evening.
F1 made an appearance at Bayside for the first time in a long time. The guys all had a ball, some close racing and all said the track was perfect for this class. The loop at the bottom of the back straight being the achilles for some. The “Brads” took home the honours with Brad Palmer of Brad Hall and Brett Ryan taking third. The F1’s were certainly the class most watch.
21.5 kids event saw 2 new faces for the first time. Molly and Chad both proved that you don’t have to go fast to come off the drivers stand with a grin from ear to ear. Elliot cleaned up but there were glimpses of hope for Chad when he paced Elliot for short periods until that adrenalin rush made his finger twitch. Molly proved that she had overcome those first nerves and improved with each race. Better still the cars all came back in one piece.
21.5 was the popular choice tonite with another full field and a few veterans returned. Brad Palmer didn’t quite have all his own way but did enough to earn the blue ribbon. James had a mixed night improving with each heat and then in the last final fell to bits. couldn’t take a trick hitting everything except the fire extinguisher. With Dave Guyatt coming in third in a borrowed car.

17.5 was also a great field tonite. Kingsley taking the night out over Duncan and Alex a credible third.

Man those mods are quick. After seeing Friendly rivalry between Peter B ,Corey B and John T last week, John T was pipped at the post by Corey, Peter and Leonard, One little hiccup by any of these guys could have seen a different result.

A good night had by all.

Cheers Brendan
